Book Fair!

Wow what a busy time of year! Thank goodness Dixon has the most hard working parent volunteers in Richmond! The Book Fair looks great and it is on until Monday.  The fair will be open from 8:30-9am at lunchtime and after school from 2:45-3:30pm.  Come by and visit the fair, there is something for everyone....

After the holidays, the Red Cedar Book club will begin....stay tuned!

Red Cedar....

We are close to rolling out our Red Cedar books. Have you been a part of the Red Cedar Book Club before? Would you like to join this year? I will let everyone know during library classes when we will meet and how often we will have meetings.

Looking forward to reading some good books!

Calling all Library Volunteers!

It has been a busy few weeks and the piles of books on my desk seem to get bigger and bigger! I will be starting a library club soon that will involve shelving books, light cleaning and book preparation.  Think you might be interested? Come by and see me or slot your name into a place that could work for your schedule on the sheet marked 'Library Volunteers' that will be posted on the bulletin board outside the library.  It will need to be a weekly commitment, so make sure it does not conflict with anything else.

The Red Cedar books have been ordered and will be ready to start reading as soon as they are picked up and processed.  Get ready for some great reading! How many will you read?

We are now open....

Hooray! The library is open and ready for all divisions to come visit.  I have been working really hard to get lots of new books on the shelves, so be on the look out for little red 'NEW' stickers to let you know what has just come in.  Remember to always return your library books on time and take very good care of your library books as if you bought them with your own money!

Each grade has a limit to how many books they are allowed to take out(for now):
K and Gr 1 - 2 books
Gr.2 and 3 - 3 books
Gr. 4 and 5 - 4 books
Gr. 6 and 7 - 6 books

If you need a book while I am teaching, please make sure that you are respectful of the class who are trying to focus and use the clipboard that has been left on the counter.  Please leave your full name, division, date and the barcode of the book.

Be on the lookout for new sections and baskets in the library.  The graphic novels and comics' have a new home and the section will start to expand very soon.

Always check this page because I will be posting lots of polls and surveys so that everyone can have their voice heard in the library!
